The Warming Globe... the Warning Signs

IT'S AUTUMN, FALL...but it feels like summer for several days now. It used to be nippy, and bitingly cold at this time of year, but summer seems to dominate the weather, or wants to stay longer. Not that I'm complaining. I love it to be this way forever. Even the leaves are still not on their autumn color, and the leaves of the American Sycamore trees that lined and draped our streets gloriously all summer are still not falling. At this time then they've all fallen on the ground, so definitely there is change, climate wise. The planet is getting warmer as Al Gore always reminds us. Thanks to progress? or to unscrupulous countries that would not want to acknowledge this phenomenon. Hurricanes, wild fires, landslides, floods, receding water here in the Great Lakes and melting ice glaciers. What else? Something needs to be done soon or we are on the path of destruction, of our own house, that is. And not only ours, of other creatures as well that together with us live and depend on this planet earth for life. When do we band together as one? to have this goal of reversing this climate change that is slowly leading our house to destruction? Now that is the sad question. For I think it might take countless lives to be sacrificed before concrete measures will be in place. But for now, we talk, but we don't do the walk. Just like what I'm doing now. I wonder if Bill Gates had thought about this... then there will be change... for money talks most definitely and things get done...
