sunrises are brand new days

one of my favorite quotation in life is this "Some men see things as they are and ask "why" Others dream things that never were and ask "why not" by George Bernard Shaw...why? for it denotes extra-ordinary flexibility, intelligence and human endurance to achieve the seemingly impossible to some, but it can really be done. all it takes are dedication, courage and the fortitude to persevere till you reach that destination or you won and prevailed :) and sunrises help you move along towards that goal. it is hard to work without daylight even with the help of artificial means for you could only go that far...

as new years turn over
and open new doors
sunrise is the key
that started it all

as that great ball of fire
so far up above
will rise up in the sky
slowly as time flies

a new dawn
a new life, a new hope
will soon spring eternal
for all of us to smile at

dawn then day
as night comes
over and over
dawn then day
as hope will
live in us forever...

without hope we are lost. hope is the engine that makes us go once more. hope is the sunshine that makes the planet move. hope is there because we do not know what tomorrow holds...and always remember this formula, "help equals hope then happiness" ...cheers to eternal hope, forever sunshine, beautiful nature and the thirst for living...(^_~)...

there will be a snow fall that is significant coming our way, i hope it will move a little bit down south for i am working in these coming days...i can't wait for spring, summer and autumn for better driving conditions for one and of course for my garden to come to life again :)

love, one perspective

love is like money
that it could buy you a heart
but without a fee

love is like a river
that flows and flows
until it breaks free

love is like a flower
that blooms in springtime
and peaks at summer's heat

but love is like fall
that gets into the ground
at the blazing colors of autumn

as love is like old winter
that gets colder and colder until
it turns into a white ashen field of dreams...

love is a pain, sometimes...but if there is no pain, there is no gain :) happy valentines' day to you all, soon :> to relatives and friends...and to the lost visitors in this blog who landed unintentionally here, laughs, thank you for your visit as well...(^_~)...

boracay...is it a good place for a vacation? i've never been there and my brod is constantly saying, let's go there for he's been there. i wonder if the planes are safe to fly there for one...i am leery, really. yes, the phil. airport toilets are shameful to tourist never mind us balikbayans na lang. it should be fixed, renovated or modernized kasi it's true, third world country na nga kahit man lang restrooms nang airport it should be a little presentable naman sana...wala pa daw toilet paper, gosh!

"Being dull is always unattractive, no matter the face"...hmn, i read this as a tweet :) then "do not judge a book by its cover" as that saying goes, should be my kind response :) though somehow i agree, laughs. but what do you think about men who love dull women? are they also dull? that is the question...my answer is this men like beautiful women, laughs, and who can blame them? they want a prize statue without brains? but as long as mabait, dullness should be ignored :) for character trumps it all, either beauty or brains and that is the final answer and let's add to that another saying which goes like this "love is blind" :> and if one lady is not mabait, relationships will suffer and there will be a split. now that is wisely said, by me :) and if you are following this blog, do not complain if i add stuffs and take out stuffs every now and then for that is my own prerogative, it's my blog to fix, so you can also say that i am dull, laughs, so maybe i better stop blogging then :? maybe...but maybe not for it will come in due time and you can surely tell. i will be very busy doing fun stuffs by then...(^_~)...and i hope it will materialize as i envisioned it to be and i need God's grace and prayers for that to come true :)

aged numbers

it wasn't glowing as it used to
it wasn't shining as a new shoe
the soles are tampered with wrinkled dirt
the white is now covered with gray dots decked with filth

the sun had risen so many times before
that now you have to wait longer for its shine
the light is now flickering as it dimmed
as the porcelain vase could no longer be seen

aged numbers sketched in a tree of life
adorned with painted colors that are peeling off its bark
falling as the wind carried it to the ground
to rest and to be buried for eternity of time

like love so fresh and full of hope at first
like rain that is refreshing and radiant
as it drops and falls into your skin
now love had faded, blown by the wind of change

aged numbers, piled with calendars of memories
stored and etched in cyberspace for many years
an open book written as footprints of one life
one speck of sand, one aged number under the sun

to be blown away
in a wind gust
to be tossed away
as the wind howls...

ultime amour

different flowers adorned my vase
with fragrances that spun my head
one is so light it made me fly up in the sky
one is so heavy that it made me dive
into the deepest part of the ocean

different fishes flashed in my beautiful pond
one shines as colorful like magic that
transformed me into a rainbow of all time
but one is gray that made me sunk and be lost
under the current flow of tide

mi ultime amour which art thou
you who made me sang with joy
or you who pushed me into
the depths of dark despair
freeing my hands as we stroll
over the hot sand bed of time

sad and lonely, happy and cheery
full of hope or an empty space
with no one to haggle with
a ray of sunshine versus a ray of defeat
a gift of wisdom or a bottle filled with nonsense...

mi ultime amour, who art thou...

for the coming love month...we each choose our ultime amour...(^_~)...a pic of roses from my garden i took one past summer :)

preview...state of the union address by pres. obama, tomorrow

"winning the future" it is really a dream of the so many of us, famous, nobody, poor or the haves...i am very fascinated with politics. it is one hobby of mine that is not much discussed in this blog. i tune in when very important events are on the horizon...this president had accomplished the impossible, being president in spite of the cliches, being middle class, and being black. who can more understand me than him? for being in one's shoe in the barometer of feeling the true essence of one human being...the solution to the present problem engulfing American families here is the creation of replacement jobs that were moved to China by the owners of these rich manufacturing companies here for more profit, because of low salaries in China. now this country is on the rise while America is suffering. no jobs, homes are foreclosed bec. they can't pay for them. the American dream is fading for millions here. the rich won, while the workers or the middle class lost big time...i hope the race to invent for the new technology that will replace fossil oil or gas to run our cars and our industries of what is remaining of it actually is won by the U.S. for other countries are also hoping that they are the ones to invent that technology...then and only then that jobs that were lost here will be replaced. we don't make things here anymore, most are made in China. it is about time to make things here again...for this country's sakes and its people...China wasn't conquered or won by war by America. it is won by the genius of economics...the manufacturing industries moved there benefiting only a few, the rich and the owners of these companies at the expense of the working Americans...so much of the wealth of this nation is dominated or owned by the top 2% of rich Americans. the disparity is just too big of a gap to bridge for money talks and can buy votes and agendas...the democrats, the party of our current president fight for the working middle class while the republicans only fight for the rich who are rich already and do not need more dough...for what i may ask, for they will have more profit already for the billion people in china will also be their customers...it's time to shift gear and help your countrymen, someone needs to remind them that...i hope God will let them see the light...for people leave this earth and die while lasting legacies are forever left and remembered by those touched and history will record it forever for a fact as well...

our vice president, Mr. Biden is called for jury duty and he showed up to fulfill one of the duty of an American citizen here. he was released though maybe because of his work, the second most important person in the U.S. for he will become the president if Pres. Obama is incapacitated, God forbids...but jury duty is something that is taken seriously here for if you ignore it you can go to prison for contempt of court...the justice system here works like this...the judge presides in court but it is the citizens like us who will decide if the accused is guilty or not of the crime he is being accused of. very different from the Philippines where the judge gives the verdict, here it is done by the jurors composed of 12 selected members. and interestingly JC is just called for jury duty as well this week...but he is still a student taking his bachelors in interactive media and web design. the court would probably will dismiss him like the vice president :) but...i was also called for jury duty years ago. i went and joined the 300 something people who were called as well and lo and behold out of the blue i was selected to be one of the 12 remaining at the very end to decide the fate of the guy accused of murder, a young Mexican man killed a black guy in that case...so here we are 12 selected jurors and for the last time before we begin hearing the case the judge asked each one of us if we have any concerns. i raised my hand and told the judge if i can be excused for three days for my mother will have cataract surgery that week. and thank heavens for i was also dismissed and saved from the misery of hearing murder weapons, killings which i abhor. God and my mom saved me then, laughs. following that i was again called maybe 3-4 times but i made sure that the court knows that i have a special boy to attend to and since then i am always not selected anymore...wow, Michael was young then and wasn't diagnosed with autism yet...murder cases run for weeks here, so you could imagine what a torture for me that would be like if ever...and yes, college education here in the U.S. is very expensive...4-5 million, Philippine money. so without student loans where the U.S. is very generous to its student population, education is hard to have but not here in the U.S. the government will help its students tremendously...but half of that tuition is from parents, of JC that is, laughs. now again i am reminded of how lucky and truly blessed i am for my education at UST came free, courtesy of the generosity of one beautiful, kind hearted person, my Virgin Mary look alike Spanish lady benefactor, my aunt's boss :) and thanks to Pres. Obama for more financial aid given to students during this administration. the vote of the youth helped him get elected to the presidency. he never had forgotten to give back...thank you mr. president :)

music is just forever magic to the ears...

"Some men see things as they are and ask "why" Others dream things that never were and ask "why not" ...George Bernard Shaw

"welcome to my world" by newell oler...it is not much but it is full of hope, on the bright side as in walking on the sunny side of the street instead of looking at the rain...it is not a bed of roses but you can feel the breeze coming in and the sunshine seeping in...it is not a carriage filled with gold and diamonds but decorated abundantly with plants, flowers, fruits and all gracious nature may bring...it is not a gift of horror but of smile, laughter and cheers...i have plenty of positive dreams that will keep off the tide from rushing in, flooding my wishes and not making my spirit sink in...for i look at the glass half full not as half empty as others may do with their drinks. we have the choice to give the gift of hope and sunshine to our love ones or usher doom and gloom, yes, our choice...do we want our love ones to cry and leave us or do we want them to stay and celebrate life with us until the end, our choice really as it boils down to this at the end for we can't live in the dark. we needed sunshine to thrive and that is a given...we live our lives as we see them in our own world of reality and that is in tune with the rest of humanity i would like to think, who mostly wants love, peace, acceptance and unity...it is a small world after all. we bump into each other in many ways and in unimaginable places. the least that we can do is to give each other space and the chance to excel... plus respect, we should give to each other as well, for life is fleeting, life is timed as life will end...yours, mine, ours...it's just a matter of when...i hope it will be a long and a fruitful life as i hope it is filled with smiles, laughter and cheers :> as we can only hope and pray to God our heavenly Father :) ...now the melodies in this blog will play one by one, piece by piece and turn by turn...happy, sad or what not...(^&*)...music art is by d. hurd...

how to stay young...or live longer :)

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop," the devil's name is Alzheimers.

4. Enjoy the simple things. When the children are young, that is all that you can afford. When they are in college, that is all that you can afford. When you are on retirement, that is all that you can afford!

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Laugh so much that you can be tracked in the store by your distinctive laughter.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be alive while you are alive, don't put out a mailbox on the highway of death and just wait in residence for your mail.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next country, a foreign country, but not to guilt country.

10. Tell the people you love, that you love them, at every opportunity.

11. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away...

...but i'd like to add, always keep the faith and let God comes always first, then everything else will follow in their proper order :) pray a lot even if it is over and over again for God always listens. have patience for at the end He might as well grant your wishes, dreams and wants, let's hope :)

two pictures i took of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Shrine in Baclaran in two different years during vacations...the top one was taken at the end of June which is the fiesta of Baclaran aka Mother of Perpetual Help Day :) so you can see those nice colorful streamers above and the bottom was taken November, 2009 during a Pacquiao fight so you can see that there are just few devotees going to visit this church...but there is one weird thing in these two pics which i just noted yesterday... a man is present with the same reddish pinkish shirt in both pics that i took...are they the same person? if ever what is the chance of me snapping them years apart with the same clothes pa, laughs. i wish i'll know the answer...Nora Aunor singing a Tom Jones' song, " Help Yourself" hmn...yes, that will be a guy's line... those with more than one muse :) hope this accomplished lady gets back her golden voice...

sampaguita memories :)

yes, this is my own sampaguita plant one past summer...here are good memories...my benefactor's husband always collect sampaguita blooms in their yard in san lorenzo village every morning after reading manila bulletin whenever they are in bloom and he puts them in their altar :) isn't that neat? plus it was also him who had gotten a hold first of my mailed US working visa petition to work here in their mailbox one morning and called me maybe wondering what on earth was it is all about and that it was coming from the US embassy pa, laughs. this family was really God sent to me. every star lined up for me in that particular time :) sampaguitas, divine altar, benefactors, education...i am truly lucky and blessed and would never forget that for the rest of my life...pilipino music is just mesmerizing to me and magical esp. this lady's voice, lovely! the one that i like, so can't resist to post :> ...and click the highlighted sampaguita bloom words above and enjoy AMORSOLO'S enduring, amazing, beautiful, superb art creations while listening to a classical guitar music of what else...the sampaguita flower :) and interestingly enough mr. pasigenyo also had a guitar version of it, wow, good :)
