elizabeth taylor, venus of the early dawn...

not just an oscar award winning actress, men fall over her, married 8 times to 7 men...dubbed to be the last great actress. she has a life fully lived. rest in peace ms. taylor, you will be sorely missed...

you, venus of the early dawn
who sings of sweet
and dephtly tones

you, of golden petals
carressed by the mist
of fallen dew after the rain

the quiet doves soar high
past above the sky
on a journey of quite a delight

that forever spent of
smiles and wants, gone
never to come back with us

so long dear beauty of the flesh
you've lived and spent
and made men wept

goodbye sultry eyes
that no one has
finally it will sleep

at last...

melting the fat away...

life is a world of comedy in this sense, but good luck kirstie :)

outside my window today :) taken 5-24-'08, a repost...

the shots... close up that i've only had imagined then, now turned to reality...while browsing the web, this nice cat suddenly appeared in my window so i ran to grab my camera for these memorable pics. how lucky is that! it gave me a smile and totally made my day. the flowers are my purple lucille balls and a few ferns. what a wonderful day, truly :>

when h. saya was just trying to see if he could be our pet :) so here is a tiny part of a front garden, mine :) and did you know that h. saya even went to the philippines with us na, laughs.

My garden, in fall, summer and spring

The velvety curtain touched my hands
Soft, silky and gentle as a hair's golden strand
Quietly, silently I pull the string entwined
Here comes a glorious garden in my eyes

Fresh spring air rushes in like a wind swept tide
I smell the pine's sweet scent between the blinds
Grass clippings swirled as a lawnmower sliced
Spreading aromas in mints and rosemaries in their primes

Pink, purple tulips peak out the earth
Plus reds, blues, yellows and lavenders
Daffodils in whites so frail and bright
As tall columbines sprout above the grass

Here comes summer with lovely evergreens
Cosmoses, roses, lilies and clematises
Colorful as a magic rainbow on a rainy day
While a shimmering sunrise peeps beyond that distant tree

Then autumn came as days grew short
The colors in my garden turned subdued
Reds, oranges mixed with hazy hues
Caressed my private landscape now turned gold...

a look at our backyard :) ...a garden recall...

and there is h. saya, our lovable cat :) ...

beautiful blooms...

what a day to begin with
when you see flowers at your desk
what a fresh start to unlock the day for
no one knows what it is lurking at its end

flowers, their perfumes are bottled
to be spritz and splash in your collar
to make you smell like a million dollar
man or woman for your muse and love

jasmine aka sampaguita you are that
together with ilang-ilang, rosal
dama de noche and champaca
your sweet scent rules these balmy nights

i plant flowers for the bees to suck
i plant blooms for my garden to be plucked
by admiring hands, smiling enthusiasts
with golden hearts, of the old and the young

sampaguita you are so bonita
pure and white, clean and bright
you've been picked, bundled as a lace
and sold in front of churches

sampaguita, your silence speaks
your perfume captivates
the tired, the old, and the lame
the poor and the barren in spirits

but most of all and the best
you are tossed at the feet of saints
hung on their hands and necks
and laid to adorn Jesus on its feet

then your existence is justified even how short it is...

beautifully arranged sampaguita in a vase...pic is from the www. thank you for sharing your perfectly presented true flower art, the best :)

calling the awesome power of weaponry

when rulers stay a seemingly forever grip on power for decades without being questioned there will come a time that their people will question their government's legitimacy. and when retaliations are directed to its citizens in protest seeking freedom and change killing them in the process then the community of civilized nations could not just stand by and watch. operation "Odyssey Dawn" was launched. same power that was unleashed in the Balkans in Kosovo, in Iraq and now in Libya. Mr. Qaddafi certainly would be defeated at the end, the only question is how and when... similar maybe to the fates of the former Yugoslavian and Iraqi presidents...only time will tell...democracy is a dear form of government by the people where the majority rules brought about by elections. power should not only be concentrated or held by one hand for ages for chances should be given as well to the rest of the populace esp. to the brilliant who has the qualities to lead...image is a tomahawk missile on cruise...

only love, nothing less & nothing more...

a nice mantra for all of us to live by...but it takes walking that extra mile to reach it for there are other unkind emotions that are competing against it... maybe if we think or visualize that cross where suffering is etched, it might help for sacrifice is suffering and suffering is a sign of love. i need to keep this always in my mind...(^&*)...pic of a heart-shaped bloom taken in my garden one great summer :)

tell that to the wind

i don't know if the wind has ears
i don't know if the sea has sheen
i don't know if the waves is strong
that it can carry us as we tread along
not like a tsunami that will kill
not like a tsunami that will break
our spirits, toss our bodies, own our lives
leave us devastated and bury us
in our graves alive

i like the wind to be blowing softly at my hair
i like the sun to be shining in shimmers in that canopy of trees
i like the moon to be smiling at me at night
i like the stars to be a necklace adorning my chest
i like the earth to be a paradise filled with love
full of compassion, understanding, mercy and the likes
but most of all...i like us to be friends forever
even if you're mad and i'm mad...

where are the robots?

Japan is tech superb but i was just wondering, where are their robots to work on these nuclear plants that humans are the ones being sent doing these very dangerous jobs of fixing these damage reactors. did no one thought of this before or they are just so confident that none of this horrific event would even come to happen in the future as it did now...wow, and this expert as i just heard in the news today described it as if it is a 15 round boxing fight we are just at round 3. so we are just barely caught at the start of this dire and desperate spectacle in nuclear terms. i really hoped that robots could do this work instead of humans which really would make perfect sense to me at least...

a professor of physics here just made a grim assessment of what is going on in Japan's nuclear reactors. that meltdown is on the way if it hasn't happened yet, so he is talking of the last resort of calling the army like what Mr. Gorbachev did in Chernobyl. they dumped sand bags and poured concrete to seal that place. and you can not even imagine the great sacrifice of these japanese workers there. they are literally giving up their lives. the government officials are just new in their office so there is a scramble of what to do in that government. how sad and how heroic if you think about people involved in this seemingly race against time of winning a losing battle...

at the end...

let's make music reign...in the hands of the masters :)...yes, music where my name is related to, laughs, plus some other things...okay, i am trying hard to live to my namesake's specification :)...happy? i do try :>...helper, yes, i've done that! princess? nope, just a queen for a night when i was younger and that was ages ago, now you know that i'm an old geyser, laughs. oh well. but music is definitely my like and my love :) and in japanese i run across the field, that i can't figure out, for what? hmn, used in a sentence..."a spectacular run across the field of all things soccer" and "The rink ran across the field from first base to third base with second base being... means the Cubs have won...so maybe my name's japanese meaning is not bad at all. just a trivial stuff of non-importance to anyone except me, of course...(^_~)...

till the end of time

how many swallows
have you counted so far
how many jets
did you see passed above
that were ready to land

how many magic or illusions
did you see casted
by the man that disappeared
and never came back
in our eyes

did you see eternity
in these moments
of our time
that stayed
and never ran out

love is just today
for you can tell that
the river was filled with lies
love that till the end
of time that never was

tell the swallows
that the song is just
a dream that never came

tell the swallows
that at the end
of the rainbow
there is no gold

there is no story
for it's an empty promise
that the bees just
buzzed all around...

love songs are like dreams in the night that it's gone when we wake up. it is like our loves, our muses, our partners that are unfaithful, untrue, so weak that they can't withstand the test of time...and they wanna be free from our grasp. but hey who knows people change if love is true, even if i am against second chances, this is just for myself :)...so let's give them that second chance :) as if we did not learn our lessons well...but we are just humans so that is the reason why :> and true love conquers all as that passage had said eloquently in the past and still haunts us today in our times, why? for it's very true :)  and that love is like a drug, or an alcohol or a smoking habit that it's hard to kick out, laughs...then we are just prisoners of the memories created of that past...like a stinky rat that comes back in our sight, laughs. but life and love is like that, until the end, until the end of the rainbow that we see up above but its end is devoid of color, no gold, no light which is kinda sad, but at some point we must accept the truth, that love after all is an emotion that may last or it may never stay forever in our lives...

let's prolong life, let's aid a life...

we are "born to care and to make smiles appear again" thanks johnson and johnson for noticing and making this commercial. not only nurses who can make a difference, we all can in different means and in different ways :)

we all came from dust be our blood is tinged with nobility or not, ash wednesday the official start of lent always reminds me of that :)

on going evacuations...

today the U.S. department had issued a 50 mile evacuation area of its citizens from the damaged nuclear reactors while Japan had only issued a 12 mile perimeter evacuation area of its citizens. multi-national corporations based in Japan are also evacuating their employees out of harm's way, meaning out of the country so airports are jam packed and airlines are adding extra flights to accommodate people who would want to fly out. the levels of radiation measured 20 times of normal levels in Tokyo today per reports and even my favorite doctor sanjay gupta and anderson cooper, both had to wear a measuring device for detecting radiation levels and he, the best MD :) was exposed to abnormal levels from where he is in japan now. U.S. experts are working with the Japanese to activate a power source which hopefully will work in 24 hrs. at the site to help in the cooling of these reactors. japan has 55 nuclear power plants and the U.S. has more than a hundred but the philippines has zero. so that is why the philippines is a third world country and the two are rated first in modern times. you've got to have a power source to support growing industries but now this is the sad drawback. i am really concerned as well that the philippines is a neighbor. i know the proximity is quite far for toxic levels to reach it but radiation also invades the water and our food supply. so even worry is not a healthy feeling for the body, it remains there for me...and i am glad that no planned vacation for me this year to my country of birth :)

with these very unfortunate triple whammy of a catasthrope... of an earthquake, tsunami and now nuclear crisis, this country really is being tested on its resiliency...but in all of these what struck reporters from here in the U.S. is that there is no looting observed in Japan in contrast to what had happened in similar disasters here. the people of Japan are in the helping mode instead of in the stealing mode which is very, very commendable...

may the suffering in Japan comes to an end, let's pray...that their efforts to contain any nuclear meltdown will be successful for the news is not very encouraging right now. everything happens for a reason but only God has the power to stop any apocalyptic events in our universe. let's pray for His grace and mercy in this time of urgent need...

and even with the presence of sad news in the world, music must continue...i sing even with mistakes of pronunciations, lyrics, out of tune and all, laughs, for music is an outlet for me and it gives me true fun. that is my own perspective :) and i'm pretty sure jane and joe have theirs as well :? and it won't be a surprise if it is different from mine. reminder... live and let live folks :)

everything changes in 12-21-2012?

a strong earthquake hit japan, let's pray for...

the victims and hope for a tsunami free casualty to countries who are on its path...

like a thief in the night

what force would let you stop
the thoughts in your mind
and pay attention to the
ceiling up above

what movement would leave you helpless
that all you can do is to grab
the chair behind, in front
or at your back

that time is ticking too slowly
as the seconds felt like eternity
the wind is stuck at pause
forever at your foot

as the ground, grind, shake
rottle and tremble
as the matches of buildings
sway back and forth

life you wonder, will it end here
or will it unfolds
life which is too short
will it come now closing at your door

we seem to think forever
that life is just a journey
that moves along as we grow old
and very tired to the bones

but when the earth moves in sudden
slow phase like it did today
our lives as humans come in jeopardy
as we face the reality of our own mortality...

earthquakes, tsunamis and the likes are thieves in broad day light. they come with force and sometimes without warning to take home human lives. for "dust we all are and to dust we shall all return" it is just a matter of time...age, gender, society's stature, wealth, profession, no matter...when it comes to bid goodbye, all must leave, all must die...sad, but it is a true fact of this life. let us never forget, let this be a reminder of the fragility of our lives...that the quest for glory, the quest for riches, the quest for fame are just worthless endeavour sometimes. when life can be snatched by the sudden movement of the earth, without warning and without prior notice like a thief in the night...

the Man who is larger than life... Bill Clinton :)

i just finished watching the MSNBC documentary by chris matthews on former president bill clinton, the 42nd american president, titled "the president of the world" the bill clinton phenomenon. there is no other U.S. president that i remember who was very dedicated, who cared and loved the global community than this man. with his CGI, the clinton global initiative whom he created after he left office with the goal of changing lives and millions of it at that he is a rock star in his own right, in humanitarian terms. i would never forget his "FMLA" family medical leave act that he passed while in office which helps families like me to be on leave from work and take care of our disabled family member without fear of losing our jobs. this only demonstrate the scope of his love for us working class here in the U.S. i can't find the you tube clips of this one hour program but i've never seen a show that had aroused my total admiration for a man. at age 54 after 8 years of being president his way of continuing his service and molding his legacy is remarkable. no one had ever made this leap of extending a helping hand to the global world be in eradicating poverty, seeking cure and distributing medicines to HIV victims in poor countries, helping the tsunami victims in asia and quake victims in haiti, going to north korea at the request of kim jong il, the president of that anti-american country in exchange for the freedom of two journalists who was captured by his army while on assignment in china with the charge of entering north korea as spies, you name the good work, he did it. president carter had a nobel peace prize for his humanitarian works after he left office and hopefully pres. clinton will have one as well in the future for he deserves it :) yes, this pic above is the younger president with his sign of love, for i thought you would rather see him in his younger years than now :) although for me, old age is a gift that needs to be cherished not despised or put down in writings or what have you for you forgot that you will pass that route as well someday. this if you are lucky enough and blessed enough to have plentiful years of life on this earth given by God :)

400, 4 centuries, 4-100 years...

UST College of Nursing, my dear alma mater...

400

4 centuries old, 4 golden globes
4 hundred years, 400 graceful years
filled with catholic pride and of Jesus Christ
you are the one, the center of our lives

millions of minds you've nurtured outright
to care, to aid and to help us human kind
in your basement library with books in our hands
we found knowledge, we found hope
we found ourselves and our path

be in the arts of healing and caring
of drawing, building and of singing
as years turned over we graduated
we moved on with pride

to face the unending challenges of this life
we've emerged victorious and glorious
for you've guide us and you've mold us
and trained us right

the reason you've endured
the reason you're still standing there
after hundreds of years
had folded and passed...

happy 400 years of existence dear school of mine
i'm sure with God's grace years will be more coming
adding in your front steps for you are an exception
a school that is truly one of a kind...

University of Santo Tomas...1611-2011...400 years and counting...proof of an enduring institution of learning :)

welcome back shuttle discovery for the last time, mission complete, 10 mins. of awesome video

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Space shuttle Discovery aimed for an on-time touchdown today to wrap up a long flying career.

The world's most-traveled spaceship was due to return to Earth - for the last time ever - three minutes before noon.

"Right now, the weather looks great," Mission Control informed the six astronauts.

With just a few hours left to circle the world, commander Steven Lindsey wondered aloud whether Kennedy Space Center was the only landing site under consideration. Mission Control replied that it was, and that the backup landing strip in California had not been activated.

"I know you're from California," Mission Control told Lindsey. "Is there something you were thinking?"

"No, just curious," Lindsey replied. "No, we want to bring Discovery back to Florida."

Minutes later, the astronauts closed the payload bay doors in preparation for Discovery's final fiery ride through the atmosphere.

NASA's oldest shuttle has flown 39 missions over nearly 27 years. It's being retired after this voyage.

Discovery is headed back from the International Space Station. Its crew delivered and installed a new storage compartment, complete with a humanoid robot.

The mission added 13 days to Discovery's lifetime total of 365 days in space. Its total mileage is 148 million miles.

Once back at Kennedy Space Center, Discovery will be decommissioned over the next several months and sent to the Smithsonian Institution for display. Endeavour and then Atlantis will fly once more each in the next few months. Then they, too, will be retired. Their final resting places have yet to be chosen.

Endeavour - scheduled to blast off in less than six weeks - will be moved out to the launch pad Wednesday night.

NASA is under presidential direction to spread its wings beyond low-Earth orbit. The goal is to send astronauts to an asteroid and then Mars in the decades ahead. There is not enough money for NASA to achieve that and maintain the shuttle program at the same time. As a result, the shuttles will stop flying this summer after 30 years.

American astronauts will keep hitching rides to the space station on Russian Soyuz capsules, until private companies are able to provide taxi service to and from orbit. NASA expects to get another nine years out of the space station.

the crew of the final flight of shuttle discovery getting ready to go to the launch pad and then lift off. shuttle endeavour's lift off in april and the last is shuttle atlantis' launch this summer and that is it folks...the shuttle space program will be phased out. sad in a way but there would be much more cost effective and saving space flights that will take over in the future i'm sure, let's just wait and see...but always spectacular are shuttle launches, big amazing machines that can fly up in the sky and beyond and only here in america folks...i am lucky to be one spectator of such an extra ordinary event created by science and fueled by the genius mind. who could ever ask for more...

amazing machines that can fly...the final launch of shuttle discovery and it will return to earth soon :)

Discovery prepares for final flight home
By Associated Press

POSTED: 02:54 p.m. EST, Mar 06, 2011

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.: The space shuttle and space station crews hustled to take care of last-minute business Sunday before sealing their hatches.

Shuttle Discovery will undock from the International Space Station for the final time Monday morning.

When Discovery returns to Earth on Wednesday, it will be retired and sent to the Smithsonian Institution.

The space shuttle and its crew of six have spent more than a week at the space station. They delivered and installed a storage compartment that held a humanoid robot.

The robot, named R2 for Robonaut 2, has yet to be unwrapped. The space station astronauts will get to it within the next few weeks.

Mission Control gave Discovery's astronauts two extra days at the orbiting outpost. They took advantage of the bonus time to empty the storage unit of all the gear that was carried up. The bonus days stretched the entire mission to 13 days on top of the 352 days logged during Discovery's previous 38 missions.

Immediately after undocking, Discovery will fly a victory lap of sorts around the orbiting lab, essentially to take pictures. Then the shuttle astronauts will pull out an inspection boom and survey their ship for any signs of micrometeorite damage.

Discovery's six astronauts accomplished everything they set out to do: installing the storage unit and an equipment platform at the space station and taking two spacewalks.

''Just a friendly reminder,'' Mission Control joked in a morning message. ''Before closing the hatch tonight, make sure everything and everybody is on the correct side!!!!!!''

pink dancing flamingos, for it is a lonely life out there?

i don't think so. for where nature is, be live animals, birds, on water or in forests or farm lands, there is the real world, and reality is pure happiness :)

dog trainer saves dog with CPR...this dog had a seizure before he stopped breathing. lucky dog aka "sugar" nice sweet name :) for they were in a dog training camp or gathering and that a dog trainer was around so sugar was saved :)...i am always reminded during michael's seizure episodes which comes 1-2 episodes in a month to always watch for his breathing. epileptic episodes are scary in itself where those around should try to protect the victim's head from bumping into hard surfaces which may cause brain damage and to observe proper positioning for optimum breathing capacity, in either back to sleep position or side lying...and be ready to do CPR if no heart rate or no palpable pulse could be felt and no breathing could be heard for each second counts. the early the CPR is done, the greater the chance for recovery. so guys and gals make sure you know your CPR for you'll never know when a life will depend on you for survival...ex. heart attack victims, choking victims and drowning victims and any other emergency situation that may or can suddenly arise in your presence :)
