memorial day & elvis...

every year at this time
the rain always comes by
every year at this time
there are always dark clouds
in the sky

while parades are
seen every where
and placing wreaths
of flowers
on graves
on tombs
on cemeteries
is the main event

memories of love ones
dominate the air
where their greatest
sacrifice of giving
their lives for freedom

is being hailed

so somber
so quiet
a day it is
so nostalgic
as a tear
drop drips...

thanks to all the fighters of freedom that were lost
with your sacrifice, i am here to enjoy life at your cost
in a way I'm saddened by it, that to have it, you will be gone forever...

"No More" by Elvis...no more smiles, no more laughter, no more love. very sad emotions that we can feel for their families. time heals broken hearts but it will be hard for these families i think, even if their love ones died as a hero...life is here only but once and once it's gone it's done...very sad. different than when your love one is alive but you called it quits for the love is gone. for love can be found again somewhere, somehow from another person :) and did you notice? Elvis at times ad libs at the end of his songs, laughs. interestingly different and yeah he is the king so that makes sense :> whatever, i like it :)

it's all in the mind & the art of truth

like magic
it's only in the eyes
to catch it you'll have
to ride in the sky

like dreams
it's just far apart
to clench it you'll
have to work hard

like in a write up
you'll have to improvise
adding illusions
for colors 'cause you must

like an art
its subject is
to be analyzed
by millions
of looking and
discerning eyes

the deal is only here
if it's real just like the air
you can touch it
you can feel it
like the breeze or the wind

like a song
that can only be heard
closely by your two set of ears
or a flower that
you can smell
its fragrance
near your soft skin

all the rest it's all in your mind
to confuse you but pls. be smart
for lies, illusions come with that
to bring havoc, uneasiness in your life

no truth to hidden acts
no facts to add to its life
no story for it's a lie
no substance for
it's all just a frank...

the colors of truth are the colors that you can always see, feel and touch :) ... and so much thanks to you dear artists for sharing your wonderful works of art with us :>

a brand new day, & tidbits of this & that...now, politics...

we welcome change, new beginnings, new hopes...with God as our light, our rock and our guide :) above are my tulips this year and two wild yellow dandelion flowers, pretty. and these dandelion leaves are excellent for chicken soups but it is the cultured ones though the leaves sold at the groceries, but it's similar although the artificially grown are more robust. if you have colds this is the trick, dandelion chicken soup, i got it from Martha Stewart. try it, it's very good. i guarantee you'll love it :)
***
Neil Diamond, California and Leila, my nursing schoolmate and friend. She introduced me to this singer, her favorite, when I went to visit her. No wonder, this man's voice is different, soulful penetrating and i say melancholic or sad as well, and i was hooked since then. I also liked his songs. A complete opposite to Elvis but i don't mind...and this singer loves kids, laughs. His "Sweet Caroline" song is dedicated to the late pres. John F. Kennedy's little daughter then, Caroline, he admitted and how about the "Shiloh" or "Shilo" song? Brad and Angelina's little girl. so i doubly like and love Neil for he loves kids and i adore little ones. they are whose minds are unadulterated, the ones whose hearts are still pure and do not know how to tell a lie...yet...but wait till they get older, laughs. the time when they ask you, "would you believe my words? i have an answer... yes or of course my dear... this if you're not Satan in disguise, hmn...but i think a much more intelligent answer will be ...it depends...let's flip the pages back of your life. the pages that showed us on how you acted in past circumstances...then the truth will set us free...err the truth that you can never hide :) then we'll go from there, fair? i think that is a good answer, laughs. oh well. our former actions are the means on how people judge and remember us in this life...so with this alone it is an incentive for us to act good and be good to other people in this universe...whether they be the high, the rich and the mighty or the downtrodden, the helpless and the poor...no matter...for it will be on our plate on how we showed our compassion, our mercy or our dark devil side...our inner selves will be revealed on these challenging circumstances. a test sort of that we unknowingly are taking as we travel the quiet or rough roads of our lives :) so now is my turn to ask the question...can you be believed? now answer me :)
***
and another question is...can we really love the things that we don't understand? a very tricky question, for how can your brain tells your heart to love a thing if your brain does not know or does not understand it in the first place? then there is a non comprehension problem here, a conflict in the mind. although there is an exception for me. I love God and His miracles which i don't understand on how He does them. so this is the only circumstance that i know of so far that i can love something that i don't understand :) how about you?
***
politics...a favorite topic of mine. but lately bec. of Hillary losing at this minute I'm just losing my interest in it too, laughs. I'm really wishing that it will be over soon, but not until November. why can just Obama wait for the next election? senority and experience should count somewhere, don't you think? now if he loses this year this if he'll be the democratic presidential nominee that will be a very hard burden to carry on this man's shoulders for the rest of his life. that with his soaring ambition, he had delivered another hell to his party and this country. "i told you so" will be the rhetoric. we just had fallen into that trap put up by the opposition camp, gosh! so I'm just too tired about politics now! i'd like the answer to my question of will race be a big factor in american politics? that are we ready for a black president? and my guess is i don't think so. not yet my friend and you can prove me wrong on this one, this November :)
***
and on air is Elvis right now. as usual the King of Rock and Roll never fails to mesmerize..."One Night" a nice theme song for you and your lady love or significant other. nice choice, i think so. although if it's me i'd like not 'one' but "all night" would you want that too? i bet you do...(^_~)...

as you close the door...

life is gone in a flash
with just a glance of your eyes
you blinked for a moment
and only the shadows
and the sounds are left
in your sad memory
in your sad world
***
that clicking shoes
is all you could hear
breaking that dead silence
as they move on
faraway forever
past behind your door
past beyond your hold
***
goodbyes are like sunsets
that darkly illuminates the sky
the sad end of hellos
the sad end of the road
goodbyes are like falling leaves
that gently cascade down on your
nose, on your cheeks as you cry
at the end of a journey
at the end of an experience
at the end of the day
***
goodbye is what there is
to greet you till another hello
goodbye is that step to another
time, to another tomorrow
with high hopes of a different glimpse
of that sky
with high hopes of a brighter day
to come by
***
with hopes of more joy
and better times
of no more sorrows
of no more strife
but more laughter
and more lasting
heartfelt smiles
***
i welcome goodbye
for with it
i can welcome
another hello
in my life :)

the brown kitty is back & so is the king :)

and this naughty Elvis song, "One Night" is something else, laughs...really, J.C. wants one night with this kitty and you know of course i want one with my favorite M.D., laughs. just kidding of course :> but it's not just like what Elvis is thinking here though, laughs. whatever that is...(^_~)...oh well, just a joke to lighten me up for it's just too tight lately :) yup, as always, Elvis never fails to rock! how i'd wished that he's still be alive these days. but good things never last, how true...and i love Elvis, no kidding :) a very versatile singer. country, rock, gospel or anything goes. what a talent, just sayang for he died too early bec. of...drug overdose. that's what i remembered...so folks a definitely two way, back to back double sword, drug heals and it kills. always keep that in mind...except illegal drugs like coke of course, that it just slowly but surely pulls you down closer to your grave every time you snort it, sad...

one moonlit night

the ripples of the water
is all you can hear
soft and penetrating
a lullaby so dear

the blue moon above
is round and bright
with its shimmering
light to guide your path

life is precious
life is short
it's filled with roses & thorns
it's full of bumpy or smooth
but winding roads
***
smile as you can
for there will be a time
that you won't enjoy life
for your time is gone

laugh out loud
until you're tired
love forever
the one that will last...

monet's captivating pond...

filled with colorful waterlilies and a bridge overlooking it. a very lovely painting. you could only paint one masterpiece and mass produce it. financially, you will be rewarded depending on how your work of art is liked by the masses. but if you fly against the wind then it is a hard sell for you. know what your customers want and play with that and not what you want then you won't be nursing a total d-isappointment in your art. this is only my observation...for there are a lot of competition out there with awards in their belts to boot...if i am an artist i will work with this in mind. for after all a client will look for something that is about them or connected to them and not about you the artist. but it will help if they liked you. they will take a second glance at your works. you need to satisfy their needs first or what they're looking for....the secret to a sale...but of course you needed to be good as well or you needed to deliver the goods in the way that they wanted it to be :) the masters had known these for centuries, my guess, like the great Leonardo da Vinci, with his works in the Sistine Chapel and the frescoes of Michelangelo in there as well, the best western paintings acknowledged so far :) and don't forget the Mona Lisa with that enigmatic smile. although it can't light up a room, it commands your undivided attention...(^_~)...even my mother took notice for God's sakes, laughs. the song is her favorite as well. she'd been humming it all through out my childhood years, i can't ever forget that, laughs.

it will always be just a dream...

what will you do
when the future
is done
what will you do
when tomorrow
is gone
***
you flip a page
and there is no script
you read a story
but there is not a gist
you did plant a tree
but it died
without a leaf
without a flower
to make you smile
the source of
your happiness
and without a seed
to carry you on
through the years
***
you just go on
with the flow and
accept your sorrow
you just plan your day
as if there's no tomorrow
you just live your life
as if this day
will be your last
without regrets
without reservations
and with a heartfelt
thanks to God
***
for letting you see
the beauty of this earth
for letting you enjoy
this universe
for giving you the chance
to live, to laugh and to love
with your family, your friends
and with your dear fellowman...

when flowers bloom...

more of spring's colorful symphony. the one on top is my very own red bud tree, (but in truth it is really purple in color, a misnomer) it's in full bloom. a beauty and happiness :>

the dark side of the sky

like underground tunnels
that are secretive and bare
like love hate relationships
that are doomed to fail

the sky is the source
of the dark known force
like hurricanes, typhoons
tornadoes and cyclones

of the beaten blues
of harrowing sadness
of travails and gloom
of catastrophic changes
befallen on victims' shoes

come wailing cries
of mothers and widows
come flowing tears
of children and lost souls

the sky is dark
if void of stars
like day of darkness
or one sorrowful night
that only the sun's rays
can make it bright
that only the sun's shine
can bring much needed light...

true love could never entertain hate, as lies and deceit come on hidden "underground" passages...and you can "pen" this as coming from cyberspace via the "sky" from me :) and I'm pretty sure it won't "d-isintegrate" before it reaches you...(^_~)...

"what comes around goes around" & vice versa :)

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND >>>> One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.. Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you. He said, 'I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.' Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid. Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him.. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, 'And think of me.' He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan . After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read w hat the lady wrote: 'You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.' Under the napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard.... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, 'Everything' s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.'

Thanks again dear friend, Erlinda :) Words of wisdom and acts of kindness and love, in some other ways God finds ways to give it back... like the wheel of fortune, the wheel of life...thanks to the owners of above images, truly wonderful works of art :)

love is here to stay

can you measure me
with the wind
as you pass by
can you measure me
with the sun
as you drop by

a mere inch there
or more a meter here
a second flashing shot
of a moment's minute life
filled with cascading colors
jammed with fragrant smell
one spring, one summer
one fall and even winter

all captured
with just that click
of a hand
all taken to live
in memory
created in a blog

love is here to stay
with that special smile
love created and bloomed
with that light hearted
memory slowly embedded
in your loving and beating heart

flowers flowers every where
come spring in May or of July's summer
even autumn's falling leaves is mirth
beauty as it falls as it fades
as it says goodbye to this good earth

love, yes love will always be around
as you and me bid our adieu and then depart
this planet earth with its paradise
God given glory, God created Eden
for all mankind to nurture and to enjoy while it last

beauty that's priceless
beauty that is free
beauty that is owned
by you and me
for only just a fraction of a time
for only just a moment of our short timed life...

under that sad blue sky

quiet and peace
reigned here
besides your heart
dark blue and deep
beyond that enormous
far away gaze
as you close your eyes
to sleep

still and silent is the night
cold and drafty is the dawn
that came knocking and banging
at your closed shut door

as you lay with
your arms folded
in your chest
as you shift
from sides to sides
all alone in that bed
of fragrant roses
of buzzing noises
and silent kisses
of soft enchanting music
that is no more
to haunt you
that is no more
to cast a spell on you
that is no more to
trick you
with wide open eyes
of deceit and lies...

for all those who believed and was disappointed. it's time to wake up :)
