a strong earthquake hit japan, let's pray for...

the victims and hope for a tsunami free casualty to countries who are on its path...

like a thief in the night

what force would let you stop
the thoughts in your mind
and pay attention to the
ceiling up above

what movement would leave you helpless
that all you can do is to grab
the chair behind, in front
or at your back

that time is ticking too slowly
as the seconds felt like eternity
the wind is stuck at pause
forever at your foot

as the ground, grind, shake
rottle and tremble
as the matches of buildings
sway back and forth

life you wonder, will it end here
or will it unfolds
life which is too short
will it come now closing at your door

we seem to think forever
that life is just a journey
that moves along as we grow old
and very tired to the bones

but when the earth moves in sudden
slow phase like it did today
our lives as humans come in jeopardy
as we face the reality of our own mortality...

earthquakes, tsunamis and the likes are thieves in broad day light. they come with force and sometimes without warning to take home human lives. for "dust we all are and to dust we shall all return" it is just a matter of time...age, gender, society's stature, wealth, profession, no matter...when it comes to bid goodbye, all must leave, all must die...sad, but it is a true fact of this life. let us never forget, let this be a reminder of the fragility of our lives...that the quest for glory, the quest for riches, the quest for fame are just worthless endeavour sometimes. when life can be snatched by the sudden movement of the earth, without warning and without prior notice like a thief in the night...
