Inside Out

Beauty inspires and it captivates
Youth or being young rolls out our eyes
Fairness in skin we all want it
Ladies and gents, old, young or teen

Too much ado with what we see
Clouding our eyes with false beauty
Better to dig what's in the deep
On that one's soul, spirit and wit

Suddenly exposed to life's travails
Is a sure fire test of one's character
The one that's deeply hidden in one's heart
Will come out fast in due time loud

What's made of you is how you react
To your life's challenges and all of that
Be sure to never demean nor trump
Your relatives, neighbors or co-humans

You might be beautiful rich and pretty
Always remember that's just temporary
What counts more in this universe
Is how you've lived your life on this earth

Did you treat well your fellowman?
Did kind words spout in your beautiful mouth?
Did you give alms to the poor, have nots?
Or what you did is otherwise...
