an empty shell

the ocean is unusually calm and perfectly in a stand still mode, something might have happened. the waves are just as flat without a sound to soothe your aching heart. there is no ship sailing in the horizon as far as your eyes can see. there are no boats in the seashore preparing to go fishing for a livelihood.

the palm trees are eerily silent and observant. their leaves are frozen solid as the breeze is nowhere to be found. the coconut trees that lined up on the seashore are as dull. no fruits that are hanging up as your thirst is lost without a pal.

your feet are as heavy as you drag them to the sand. these fine sand, they're so hot that you can barely stand. the sun is very busy working overtime.

you spotted an open sea shell lying together with some others that are not. your mind begun to work and questions why one is just like that.

an empty world, an empty shell, dead, without a life
just like an empty word, an empty promise
that has no value to your life...

though it could work as an excellent decoration
that you can admire every day
as the sun sits and as the clock ticks
slowly, until the time takes your breath away...
