pure michigan...

mackinac island, the movie setting of "somewhere in time" by the late superman actor christopher reeves and the beautiful jane seymour...the movie that was made at the same time i set my foot on this state of the five great lakes...pure water is i want so i am happy that by coincidence i live where water is in abundance, just similar in pinas :>

and i will really be looking forward to this... manny pacquiao's first international movie in 2012. one great man comes once in a while to promote his country and in our time mr. emmanuel pacquiao is the one...

mind pausing prophecies

like nostradamus, edgar casey, the mayan calendar and here about the popes...the universe is filled with mysteries that only God the Father is privy of...if He chooses to share it with specially selected humans, we could only listen and wait if it's true...for no one knows everything except the Lord, even the end of the world and the end of our lives...

yesterday i went to pick up JC from school and we were talking about his college professor. she had a major car accident in the past she told her students and all of them survived because they were in a volvo car. yes, the car that is built strongly and comes first in line for the most safest car out there built today. but what is nerve wracking is when we approached home an accident was just about to happen. just a few seconds ahead of us a stolen car clocking at 100 miles per hour ran a red light and hit one car and both cars flipped over rendering them to nothing and sadly killing one person. the sad part is the guy driving the stolen car survived with minor injuries while the passenger of the innocent car was dead on the spot. it was before sunset and there is still light. so we parked our car home and walked a bit to the tragic scene for it is near our house. we live very near the police station, the fire station and the city hall. ambulances came in seconds so with first responders. they worked in wonders and so quick to take out the victims using tools to cut the messed up steel. it was a sad moment but it was amazing for these people had gotten the help they badly needed just in time in just seconds. so one thing great about america is this. here they mostly have the tools needed in this kind of an emergency plus the manpower and the skills to save lives pronto. although it was not enough for the victim, they did all, gave it all that they could have done to help and save lives and that was very somber but satisfying to watch...

the music is silent

the piano keys are out of tune now
tired by the touch of your hand
the piano keys are numb
unable to sway with the times

morning till night you practice
and practice to refine your tune
morning till night you push
and pump me down even more

that when the time comes
to shine for your future muse
i will fail and won't do a good job
even if you tap me out loud...

a piano needs tuning to perform in top shape. a mind needs rest to replace its over worked brain cells...like a blogger bowing out as the curtain falls for good, maybe me:? pls. don't count on that :)...only leaving the melody to meander and move on softly in between the creases of the universe we call, cyberspace...thanks for your visit :)...hmn, are lions and tigers good pets? maybe for the pink and red heads artists to be, laughs. oh well, now it reminds me, my husband bought JC when he was born a pet lion like stuffed animal. it's huge and it is still in his room, like more than 2 decades later. so that orange lion is looking at me everyday, on top of JC's TV, laughs...gosh! and here's a good idea, it's better to marry your own kind and work as a team :) this way people like me would be more interested in following your creative adventures together :>

like in a music box

...the music plays, for life is music and music is definitely love. i bought one music box for myself several years ago and ms. majors, my 80 something co-worker who is a nurses' aide gave me one last Christmas :) but i like this music box with the blue smiley shape skirt and the blue hair piece...and the pink theme...life is blue and pink, my life. that is how i describe it, although i try not to let the blue dominate the pink :)...life is what we make it. life is sunrise and sunset. but most of all life is borrowed and must be returned when God wants it back. so ladies and gents let's make the most of our lives, let's decorate it with magic :>...and if there is a song i wanna put in a music box, this is it :)

life, the greatest gift...

for the blind it is with a cane
always when he goes around
for the lame it is with a wheelchair
that he propels where he wants
for the child it is a sparkle
full of amazement and wonder
that spins for him time to time
but for the adults it is filled
with trials and tribulations
like the sea that is calm
and wavy at times

no matter, life is a gift
that is timed and won't last
life is short even
you lived a 100 years or a second
life is a smile if you treat it right
but it is a pout
when you don't value it as such
life is a gift that will rot
at the end...but...life
everlasting will replace it
when we all depart and gone...

so let's make a lot more smiles :)
while we can
in spite of the struggles, the pains
and the disappointments
that comes in our path...

for life is precious
so let's treat it as such
for life is fragile
it can be gone tomorrow
nobody knows

except our Father in heaven
who is always good and wise...

SMILE for we matter. we are loved... if by no one, we are loved by the most important...and that is God :)

you love money...

...and you know that most everybody do...but money is not everything and money do not bring us true happiness...it is love that do bring happiness to you, to us, to all...(^&*)...and i am awake waiting for shuttle endeavour's re-entry back to earth at 2:35 AM :)...early morning comeback. it is night, dark and like dusk, that should be fun for it is different from the rest of shuttle re-entries :> the final swan song, the almost end of an era. the 165th flight of the american shuttle space program and the 25th space flight and the last of shuttle endeavour which will be shown in an L.A. museum after as its home...then there will be a race by commercial companies, to who could first build a rocket or a space vehicle that will replace the american space shuttle for it was said that it is too costly to maintain...in the mean time the russian soyuz rockets will fly american astronauts to the international space center until a viable commercial company could come up with an invented space vehicle... and then the last shuttle flight will come...it is on july 8th of shuttle Atlantis :) then it is over, sad in a way...but good things come to an end and this is just one of them, ex. love comes to an end as well, right :?...

and here is the final touch down of shuttle endeavour, bittersweet...

the final sacrifice...

with dignity and honor
you waved and smiled
to serve your country
your destination
is war

your bravery unsurpassed
you fought with courage
that i may live
in peace and freedom
all i want

with love ones left behind
who may never know if
they will see you again
one more time
one more chance

hail to you,
fallen heroes
of our lives
you suffered endlessly
and paid the ultimate price

farewell, but unforgotten
you will all be in our hearts
comes today and everyday
your ultimate sacrifice
will be always remembered

and thanked...

happy and somber memorial day... in sorrows and days like this we realize that we have the power to choose how to live our lives...to be a hero, or not...and we have them in the 6,000 and counting American lives lost in recent wars...

on rainy afternoons...

art is from the www... rain, hearts and an umbrella. the sky is sad. aren't we all at times. and what do we do? some of us go out to pray for better days...sad tunes are heart breaking but it is worth listening to them. musical creations of broken hearts are outlets and they're necessities for the start of the healing process, i think...(^&*)...

inside the detroit institute of arts

JC had a class field trip recently at this house of the arts here in our state and i was off so i tagged along. i was here years and years ago and i can't even remember what i saw then, laughs, so it's time to refresh my memories :) and i was pleasantly surprised. i took lots and lots of pictures of these loads of beautiful paintings we call art, now it will take time to upload them. but here are 2 videos of the arts that i like most :) the adoration of the magi and the adoration of the shepherds. very adorable that's for sure. this place is truly a treasure trove of good and beautiful art, terrific!...flowers, music, art, poetry...life is full :)

timecatcher...

the lakes are overflown
with forces beyond our control
the river banks are gone
swallowed by the sand

the wind came roaring by
and blown the dreams we had
and passed it all so far
where it can't grow and divide

the days are filled with
violent powers so beyond
that no human kind alive
can fight and win at hand

time catchers we all are
kite fliers of the sky
when the weather is fine
and it's not ...half of the time...

our lives are filled with surprises and we can only hope and pray that these surprises will make us all smile :)...but as we know the residents around the overflowing and flooding Mississippi River and the tornado states down south are sadly in a sad and challenging times right now...we catch the times of the good and the bad and we adjust our lives as we see fit...and hope for tomorrow that is brighter than the past...and of course we catch the time or we race to do the jobs left behind by the turning of the days and of the nights...

the dancing winner :)

well, congrats mr. smiling, happy hines, laughs...but for me kirstie and maks won :) and "don't look so sad, i know it's over"...let's just be glad, right...and maks is really looking at that trophy, the sparkly round white crystal ball...almost maks, almost, laughs. oh well, maybe in the future, who knows...only God, of course :)...and if these 2 will make a movie i will go and watch even if i only watch a few... james bond, jackie chan, star wars so i could add them. it will be fun i am sure, dancing et all plus john travolta, a friend of kirstie. i remember watching his "grease" movie with olivia newton john at magallanes theatre ages ago. that was fun :> and the lady in pink in this pic was hines dancing partner...

second best :)

no complaints, the best amongst the ladies :) if not for that hines ward guy kirstie and maks would have taken that sparkly ball trophy. for the last time they again danced the first ever dance that they did in this program for the finale with that forget you music...hmn, yeah, let's forget the bad times who would ever want that, i'm sure no one does :)

WOW!!! tsk! winner talaga...

even we won't know the results till tonight...i was working and was sooo busy so i really wasn't able to see the whole show, but with this performance they might have a shot...hmn, mrs. dionisia pacquiao, look at ms. kirstie alley, at 60, your age, she is really sooo hot :) nice to know that age does not matter in dance, laughs, maks is 31, and kirstie is 60...more power to this lady actress, it pays to be a comedian, laughs. and of course maks is superb as well...good job, maks!... i like people who can make me laugh :>

but let's pause and say a prayer to the residents of joplin, missouri for the devastating tornado that leveled their town, who took 116 lives and counting and even battered a hospital...so sad to imagine how life could end in such a very violent way...

shuttle endeavour's lift off...

for the last time...the commander is astronaut mark kelly, the husband of the democratic congress woman from arizona, gabrielle giffords who was shot in the head in an assassination attempt but survived...she was present in this launch...a very lucky woman who survived miraculously while six others died in this heartless shooting spree while this lady was meeting with her constituents on that fateful day...bittersweet, sad but happy, a triumph over the devil...

one more shuttle lift off in july and then the shuttle space program will come to a close...and the shuttles will be on display in museums...

truly brilliant!!! dancing to the max...

this pair got their first ten. maks is really an excellent dance instructor for we are seeing good results. i am really very entertained by this unlikely couple. what can you expect from a lady actress and a comedian, laughs. she is really losing weight i noticed. i love kirstie, her life is a testament to never giving up to better ourselves...more power to her!

and i really love this on going tune, "for the good times" by newell oler...who would really wanna think of the bad times, right?...(^_~)...and "make believe you love me one more time"  hmn, it is an illusion, let's cut that, please...(^&*)...

the quest for the elusive triple crown starts again...

...with the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby. the winning horse hopefully will win the next race, the Preakness and then at the Belmont Stakes. the last to win that triple crown honor was Secretariat in 1973, hmn, lots of young folks were not born then, i'm sure, laughs. but it is a fascinating, heart thumping and riveting 2 minutes in sports. i don't go to horse races nor bet on them but i am always fascinated and glued on TV comes first saturday in may. it is not because of the hats worn by fashionable ladies but maybe because of the sheer grandeur and the chance to put my bet in my head of who will be the winner this year. i rooted for shackleford but he made it only to 4th place out of the 19 horses that ran. i always thought that this game was rigged though by how and by who that is the question. but come on, in 38 years, nobody had followed secretariat's footsteps yet?

and congrats to our super hero, manny pacquiao. not only that he can make traffic vanish in metro manila, with his fists he can make bigger men submit in defeat, wow! i think he is greater than muhammad ali :)...but i know you knew that already :>

raging water rescue

wow, i am hoping that i will still be driving when i am 93, not in flood waters though :)

and hot dances even if you're 60, wow, really wow. fat but full of guts, i love you kirstie. you are an inspiration for the fat and the old...way to go girl! no kidding i am seriously thinking of getting dance lessons, for exercise, laughs.

a brand new day...

as dawn reigns in the horizon
the sun will soon slowly rise
as the rooster croaks on us
the stillness of the night
won't be revived

the silence is now gone
where whispers flood
as the millions of us
welcome a new day
change, at last...

the first ever tune played in this blog, the irony is after more than 4 years of blogging it still rings true...would it be nice to end this blog with the music that started it all...but there are a lot of beautiful things to blog about. things that make our lives alive, er my life, laughs. like footprints in the sand, footprints that can be erased once the tide is up...although this cyberspace's footprint is much harder to erase so they say but it can be done...that is why there is that back up magic, a spare, a remedy if you pls...(^_~)...oh well...new beginnings we are full of that. as a new day dawns, as that warm and hot sun rise :)

our president, barack obama... the fake and the true :)

finally justice, although sadness still persists. life when gone can never come back...

and through the grief of it all, let us be entertained by an impersonator of one great president :)

a painted iris...

flowers are created by God to bring smiles to the sick, a gift to the girl of your dreams, held by the bride on their weddings, a bouquet for the departed and also given as a token of thanks or remembrances for the goodness of others who made your days or your life brighter now...for a "little help given to others matters, as a little love shown heals"...so let's aid a life by any means, in any ways that we can imagine, for it is the deeds that reveal the truth of our intentions not our words. we all know that words are without meaning not unless it is executed...thanks to you dear artist for this wonderful creation of art and now the music plays :)

hello...

welcome to my world even how early or how late
let's make the best of it for we'll be here only in a bit
like in a time warp we are all put together in a space
where we lived, where we loved and where we hate

time travels and we are riding the same in a plane
where we are transported out of life at the end
so why can't we behave, enjoy every moments of it
for it'll happen only once we are here now so let's play

and let's be happy, instead...(^_~)....

i am sad that mr. khadafi can not make the right choice to give up power. now the latest news said that his son and grandchildren died in an air strike, like mr. sadam hussein did, his two sons died as well. mr. mubarak made the right decision in egypt. life is short and timed, let's give up material things and power so life may continue and endure. let's pray that mr. khadafi will recognize now that his grab for power should end esp. if you are up against all odds. the super power and its allies will win at the end. we should know our own weaknesses, we should know how to be humble and accept defeat. and if we are in that level of awareness, in our defeat we have won...

can you please let me in?

this cat was God sent, can you pls. let me in? and sure we did...and here is a happy ending kiss :>...a wonderful commercial...it reminds me of the province, beaches, fireflies and what we have recently, snow, and it is now spring...the weather here in the U.S. is really bad, lots of tornadoes this spring down south claiming hundreds of lives and the winter season was brutal, lots of snow...let's pray for the victims of mother nature. we, humans are truly helpless when she is mad and i pray that we won't have tornadoes here this spring. we have a finished basement, that is why they are built for. but God pls. make it a nice spring and summer for us...i love our state even it is wintry because we are surrounded with 5 great lakes and we have plenty of waterfalls up north, plus car making started here by mr. henry ford, so motor city is here and motown was born here as well and that is music :) so water and music i love both and i work here so no complaints :) millions of years ago we must have been hot or have a tropical weather here year round and then the climate changed for some reason we do not know, for did you know that down under us is the biggest salt mine here in the U.S. yes, the salt that they placed on wintry roads to melt the snow. salt and water, they go together for the sea is salty, right?

and a saint to be in our time...we knew him and we loved him...spreading God's presence in our church, the works of that is headed by our popes...holy people, chosen people by our God...we are lucky we have them :)

a wedding, in royal style...

it doesn't happen often that a queen and a king to be is going to be wed in our lifetime, this is my second. the first was the wedding of the prince and princess of wales aka the wedding of prince charles and the late princess diana and as we all know she was not meant to be queen for the couple's marriage ended in a divorce. we really don't know what the future holds if these two, the duke and duchess of cambridge, their newly given title by the queen will end to be the next king and queen of england. but the future will surely tell us. today is friday, the day when Jesus died, the color of the ring is blue, meaning i feel blue or sad or code blue which is a medical emergency for us when somebody is dying or turning blue and is needed to be resuscitated or to be kept alive. or the color of the peaceful sky, the color of silence, the end and death? so blue is not my favorite color, laughs, because of code blue, meaning i have to work hard to keep a life alive and that is not pleasant... princess diana has that blue dress and blue sapphire ring and same with kate, blue dress and blue ring in that announcement of their engagement. the royals love blue? i dunno blue is just sadness if we think about it. sorry color blue tho' i love to wear my blue denim jeans :)...now are colors important? like pink for female babies and love? purple for royalty. choose this if you wanna be important, laughs. but isn't it lovely that the world is just adorned with beautiful colors. i love the deep blue sea, now that is another reason maybe that i needed to learn to like the color blue :) i like green grasses and green forests with their trees and those swaying green leaves. ergo, colors make our surroundings come alive and it makes me happy :> i always anticipate going to the province then solely because of the colorful sceneries there and of course because of the clean and refreshing warm breeze...and now i can hear the parade going on of the royal wedding which is going to happen soon :) a happy TV program so i like it :) image, the royals...by marc little...

we now witnessed history, the wedding of the future king of england. the ceremony was solemn and amazing. the wedding dress is simply elegant. let's now hope that there will be a happy ending this time around...and we can only hope and pray, of course :)

and here is a happy ending kiss :>...a wonderful commercial...

Thursday, April 28, 2011

on rainy afternoons...

the skies cry...but after that a sunny afternoon comes where the sky smiles...just like day and night i think...and that's life until our end comes aka until we die...how sad if we think about it. so what are we supposed to do? grab joy as much as we can but how? give joy so joy will be ours. but it's a trick for if you do it intentionally you won't get it... for happiness is like a firefly that it flies away from you when you try to grab it...top art is by gregory thielker... bottom, artist unknown...

eternally, the song...

just an example is ms. aquino's love life..."eternally" is just but a song title...i understand, human feelings change...it must be hard to be in this lady's shoe...a special child like mine, an assassinated dad, and three loves that did not pan out for they can't withstand the test of time, so ergo they were never true love...although interestingly enough here is one singer that is professing his love for her via music and via the media...he has a very nice voice kris, if that matters, laughs...as if this sis of the current prez is reading me. i know tough luck :) yeah, love...you don't have to find it for it finds you :)

and speaking of music, a verdi opera ...i wish i am in manila to watch this stage musical, Aida, for i haven't watch the musical piece that my mother had identified me with, laughs. oh well. i dunno, maybe that is why i like to hear music, any kind of music, except loud music for that will be noise, just my take, so you shouldn't be offended if that is your choice :)

Sunday, April 24, 2011

kirstie and maksim danced the "american woman" :)

yeah, yeah, yeah, a shoe problem plus a fall problem recently but only 4 points from the top. half way through the season will they win, hmn, yes if a miracle happens and mind you they do :> okay guys and gals you are watching a senior, 60 year old kirstie alley and a much younger dancer, maksim chmerkovskiy compete in the dancing with the stars show. i never watched this show but a weight challenged 60 year old actress taking the plunge and the shame to lose weight in the process takes guts so that lured me in and it was worth it :) i think maksim might have done something to gain weight so to match up with kirstie, laughs. but anywho, the part where these two dances is just riveting to me...and gives me a laugh, true laugh that is...and anthony bourdain, the traveling chef with that poetic verses looked like the emcee, i think so :) they could be brothers lost in the shuffle, laughs, but anthony looked older, laughs. oh well...yes, american woman stay away from me, american woman, mama let me be, goodbye american woman as its end, i like it! i think that is one opening and the end salvo of that song :> i love it :)...my fun is very shallow, laughs...

but seriously the holy week is almost over and done. as with each passing day we take stock or take notes of our lives. are there some things that are needed to be stopped, to be forgotten as there are things that are needed to be renewed and continued or let go. it is our decision and we measure our decisions on how that experienced faired in our lives. did it bring joy, then by all means let it go on and on, but did it brought sadness, fakeness and irritation, then it is time to let go, no question...life is short. not a single moment should be wasted on kalokohans, my take...(^&*)...we can only play for awhile but at some point we will get bored...

kate and william...the would be future king and queen of england if things will take its natural course but as we all know no one knows and no one can predict the future as what happened to his parents' lives...i just finished watching the CNN program about the women who would be queen, the late princess diana and kate middleton...it is an eye opener to the persona of kate. this lady is much more equipped and ready for the queen's role i think but there is always a but...to make room for the end results :) i am not really that much interested with this coming royal wedding as i was then with princess diana's. i have several books bought about her then but never been read, laughs, no time is my excuse, laughs. i guess now i can tell that i bought them for their memories referring to the tragic ending of a fairy tale story that never really was in the first place. my conclusion there was never true love, because if there was it should have conquered all and had overcome...none, nada so the story has an unhappy ending. and i hate movies with unhappy ending. i always ask people who watch a movie that i am interested in if there is a happy ending so i can go and not waste my time and my money, laughs. oh well, but that's just me. i want to pay for movies with a feel good attitude in it at the end, sort of like winning at the end...(^_~)...won't you? of course yes, right? laughs.

change is new beginning...

like a butterfly cocoon
buds sprout out in spring
new growth of grass
grace the meadows
as wild flowers burst
and coat the american heartland

dawn will dent its way
to a dim lit sunken earth
the sun rises slowly
as colorful palettes of
shades and muted creams
beam over tortured valleys

the sea with its quiet waves
silenced by the guardian owls
the fishermen now without oars
for the boats were torn apart
fishing today is done
for no ride to haul them out

the fishes weren't sorry
they rejoiced beneath the sea
saved by the splintered woods
now separated and detached
for the nails flew and gave out
leaving the boats to capsize

then comes new beginnings
to change our course at hand
sending us new life
saving us from the past
that was dreadful, awful
and absent of laughs

hope should come today
as Jesus rises brightly
new dawn, new sky
to open up our gazing eyes
new tune... new path...
to follow in our lives...

Happy Easter Everyone :>... and happy new beginnings as well :)

the redeemer's cross...

crosses in kinds
made in familiar wood
or in cement blocks

suffering in heavy doses
where blood sputtered
dripped and dried

life given so as
to carry us from sin
of the flesh and of the mind

it is done as
the dark sky will open soon
and sparkle as Jesus will rise...

thanks for sharing your wonderful work of art dear artist...as if you're reading this...

rising...

torments and tribulations
pains and sufferings
crosses and nails
memories of your
earthly journey
steps and sojourns

hope is rising
love is hoping
time is clicking
the sky is opening
your life is the way
to our new beginnings...

Jesus, the King of kings is now risen. a painting of the resurrection, artist unknown.

the life of Jesus...

the Crucifixion by Mantegna...the sacrifice at the cross...as ashes mark our foreheads by priests uttering, "for dust you are and to dust you shall return" life ends as another life begins in the resurrection. pls. click image for a much bigger view of this beautiful work of art :) ash wednesday marks the start of the lenten season where we searched our souls and reflect on how we are forgiven of our sins and it involved death on the holy cross...

the resurrection on Easter Sunday where life had conquered death...and the birth where hope and love started it all...plus of course the teachings of the gospel to the converts in between and the performance of miracles and other holy works...but these are the three pivotal moments captured by the skilled hands of extra ordinary talented and artistic humans. kudos, for with these works of art we as Christians could understand better the life of the son of God who came to redeem our sins...

the happy Jesus painted by a lady artist, my favorite :) ...yes guys and gals never puke in Jesus' house esp. if you are imitating his top, have respect naman, even if you are playing with metaphors, gosh!...for only the devil will have his insides flip out if he sees this place. now are you? maybe so, hmn, not good for your past, present and future muse, laughs. wow, metaphors like write ups, they could be interpreted in gazillion ways and only the writer knows the truth and nothing but the truth. see mothers know best and you thought the opposite :? ...if it didn't say directly so it is not so, that's the rule :> for there are players aka gamers out there that uses and abuses and are always on the look out for their victims of the pen...(^&*)...also pls. be kind to the old, the seniors, your mother, your grandmother for you will be a senior in the future :) it is just a sign of low intelligence if the young can not even think ahead, laughs. guys and gals you won't stay young forever, mark my word :> and people are kind, for when JC and me go out together they thought that he is my little er big brother maybe just to get some smile or favor from me, laughs. oh well. i think they are just being nice or maybe they are blind...but i'll take any complement that i can get :)

the old rugged cross...

a gust of wind by john singer sargent...

no one can ever resurrect a life except Jesus...

a gust of wind can make a hat ran
with its force so strong a hand
can't even withstand

same force of wind can make us plan
a different route at some
other day at some other time

and make us wait for a gentle breeze
from a calmer sky without a cut
without a bruise in our palms

one quiet world, one kinder world
without a slap, without a trap
without zapping our hearts

now the beat had stopped
as the stagnant blood
can't flow so life is gone...

i am sad that your time had come Jimbo and flying your body on a jet cost 45,000 USD for you to come back to your native land to be buried...too costly. that is more than 2 million pesos, so you will just be cremated, the final decision..."to ashes we all came so to ashes we all shall return" how true, that is when the time of our end will come and the sad part is we do not even know when...like a thief in the night...the oldest living man recorded here in the U.S. died a few days ago as well at a whooping age of 114 years young...and his mind was all intact, so they say...lucky man, he had plenty of time to make it count, his borrowed life i meant...let's all have a solemn holy week celebration everyone...(^&*)...Jesus died... so all shall we at the end...what a sad feeling, it is holy week talaga...

let's make it count...

time wasted on a trip
as tracks filled with just bleeps
words wasted on a line
didn't move the dove to fly...
