in the land of the vain

i looked at you in the mirror
but time has taken its toll
i hardly recognized you
for the wrinkles had ran havoc
and claimed your facial throne

the lines of smiles and laughter
had never left and they're just there
to remind me of the triumphs
and the wins that quickly came
but disappeared and went

to change you maybe
a temptation that drape
my battered self image
and psyche to bare
revival, renewal, rebirth
kept calling me again

nips and tucks, tighten and cut
lift it up, take it out or simply
a new you on the mark
enticing and alluring like
the many fakes in our lives...

beauty is as temporary
as the passing tide
beauty won't last not unless
it is enhanced, taken care of
to make it last...

so let's beautify? let's follow others that have done it before us? some women take the risk while others prefer the natural...the old chair and a lady's portrait... done by john singer sargent :) wow, i just asked linda today, my co-worker, when will she goes back for another face lift again because she had one done more that 10 yrs. ago. and she said, 9-'10. i can't wait to see the results, laughs. now this reminds me of nora, the rumor of her botched beauty enhancement surgery. that she might have also lost her golden voice because they did a tracheotomy when she can't breath. very sad if it's true... and the young charice's beauty steps courtesy of a beauty MD in manila. this girl is just very young to have toxins injected on her, unnecessarily, my humble opinion. if you can't live with the face that God gave you then there is a problem with us. accept our true selves is just better than trying to be what we are not, right? and this is my current take but my mind changes as the days turn into nights and as dawn dips into dusk :) yeah, right...i've concluded that flattery is the best imitation :? and as this sentence is an imitation btw...the priest in that i will serve you video is much more deserving of imitating. so let's go do it instead of imitating other nobody like me for example, just saying...for what will people say about you if that happens :) be original? one might say, laughs. oh well.

and yes, thanks to blogging for i can exercise my aging brain and at the same time i have some memories jotted along the way...(^_~)...plus it's free. but we needed to be able to mark a line in the sand as to which things can be blogged or can not be blogged for that matter. now that is where the blurry sight of privacy resides for what might be private to me is different from yours. now, if you have something to say, do it in a blog as long as you can read between the lines of decency and acceptable behaviour. whatever it is blog but blog with insight, love and with tender loving care like a nurse :> i don't have face book and twitter accounts. this is my first foray to the world of the unknown, the cyberspace where people can be kind or otherwise. come to think of it i started blogging for i have to then. now i blogged for i need to...for mind exercise :) i tried to stop a lot of times but i've realized that the mind is as changeable as the love of humans. you are in today but tomorrow you might not be. as you are sad today but tomorrow you'll be in the sunny side of the street...like in a circle you know that up and down thing sort of...your blog is you, not unless you are good in faking it which i am not. i fail miserably in lying or acting so i can't be a Marilyn Monroe or Meryl Streep. i can't act but for good reasons, i am sure i can :)
