the BP oil spill, a slow motion nightmare

in spite of the 8 submarines deployed down under and the countless emergency boats hovering around the site, the oil pouring and spilling out from the damaged oil rig that exploded killing 11 workers still is not yet capped. with 4,000 oil rigs in that region who knows when it can happen again...why not harness the power of the wind in these gulf coasts states for energy purposes instead of oil beneath the sea. no ecological mess, no financial loss, no beaches affected, no marsh covered with oil endangering precious wild life's habitat in that region. an environmental disaster of magnanimous proportion, killing people's livelihoods as well. the negative effect will go on for years. what a sad time it is, really, for people affected by this unfortunate event or accident...i'm very sad...
