Fernando Amorsolo (The Greatest Filipino Painter) The Philippine artist Fernando Amorsolo (1892-1972) was a portraitist and painter of rural land scapes. He is best known for his craftsmanship and mastery in the use of light.i think i know now who really is my favorite painter of all time...amor-love, solo-only :) his classic amorsolo tropical sunlight, i want that in a painting :) he said he hated sad and gloomy paintings and so do i :> and had executed only 1 painting where rain appeared, where is that painting? i'm curious, and had around 10,000 works in his lifetime. he painted till his 70's and died in 1972...he could easily surpassed john singer sargent if his works were preserved somewhere and made into an on line gallery too :) yup, the no.1. is amorsolo, no.2 is john singer sargent...and that's it! art... it is truly mesmerizing when you're looking at positive things and depressing when you're served with doomed art displays. i always wanted to see the light and the truth in all things including art. life is short, i try to decorate it with joy so that the ride is pleasant and light :) but that's just me. yours might be different and i respect that although i need to turn the page for a brighter spot whenever i see the dark. you can't blame me, for me don't want to be tortured, laughs. oh well.
