saint peter, the first pope

as persecution still exists nowadays on how we practice our religion by others...the greatest proof of our love for Jesus is by dying for our savior as saint peter did many, many years ago. i am not really surprise that others judge you on how you live your life and on how you practice your faith and religion. it shows that common decency is fast eroding in our society. you could not even let others be on how they show their love for God. how much more tolerable are we in other aspects of living.

per saint peter's request, they crucified him heads down for he said that he is not worthy to be crucified like Jesus was. giving one's life is the ultimate sacrifice for our religious beliefs. we are all born to live and to die sooner or later, someday, somewhere, somehow. some put meaning into their lives, in great or small ways. others waste their lives like there is no tomorrow. and only God holds that tomorrow before it is given to us.

saint peter basilica in rome or aka the vatican where popes officiate masses was built in honor of saint peter. that was the place where he was hanged inverted heads down a long time ago according to christian history, similar to calvary or golgotha for Jesus. i've seen amazing documentaries about the secrets that were kept under that church. it is beautiful where caves are and precious religious relics or artifacts plus gifts from royalties and heads of states for inaugurated popes then are stored besides where past popes were buried as well and of course the final resting place of saint peter himself. first on my list to visit in the future :) even though much of that underground place, it is not for public view...(^&*)... thinking about it gives me goosebumps, not for the bad but in admiration...
